Poster created to promote the Banned Books Week.

This poster was designed for my Advanced Typography and Layout class to promote the Banned Books Week of 2021. For this project, my goal was to create a design that would immediately draw the viewer's attention to the themes of censorship and intellectual freedom.

With that in mind, I approached the design by using typography as a visual element rather than treating it only as text. To achieve this, I arranged the type to form the shape of a mockingbird, referencing the book "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee, which was on the Banned Books list, allowing the type figure to become the focal point of the artwork. As a result, the final design encourages viewers to pause, look more closely, and engage with the message.
